Recovery
Strategy for Transient Killer Whales
Fisheries
and Oceans Canada (DFO) would like your feedback on the
draft recovery strategy for Transient Killer Whales (Orcinus
orca) in Pacific Canadian Waters. The recovery strategy
describes the recovery goals and objectives as well as the
methods that will be used to monitor recovery. We are now
seeking input on the draft recovery strategy from those who
are interested in transient killer whales and may have
additional knowledge to help effectively implement
activities to recover these whales. Your input will help to
finalize the recovery strategy and to implement the recovery
programs.

We Want to Hear From You!
An integral
part of the recovery planning process under the Species
at Risk Act (SARA) is involving the public during all
stages of species recovery. At this stage, it is important
for Canadians to learn more about the recovery strategy and
provide input before it is finalized.
